The Categories Are Largely Irrelevant - Searches Are Done by Full-Text Searching
When designing this website, I (Carl E. Person) tried to think of examples of tasks that I might want to have done for me, as a website user, or that I might want to offer to perform, also as a website user. I realized that I would not be able to list every conceivable task that I or you might want to "purchase", or that you or I might want to perform for (or "sell" to) others. Because searching is done with full text, your search for a "transmission repair" person would find the classified ads you are looking for even if the ad was placed in a category called "Funerals". Accordingly, do not spend a lot of time trying to find the correct category. Try to find something close, and use the ending, catchall category "Other" if nothing else seems suitable.
MyClAds.com Differs Radically from CraigsList (which of course is a great website)
MyClAds™ differs from other, better known websites, such as the phenomenal craigslist.com:
- by charging no fee for any of the classified ads;
- by categories reflecting the needs of individuals trying to create a market for their different types of tasks or services they would like to perform for others;
- by categories reflecting the needs of individuals trying to organize and complete their lists of things needing to be done;
- by allowing you to post numerous ads in relevant categories (but not duplicate ads within the same category);
- instead of placing your ad by city or state, you (if you are a United States resident) will be placing your ad by ZIP Code, and searchers can find you by searching the whole database, or by restricting their search to so many miles in radius surrounding their own ZIP Code (or a ZIP Code selected by them) - so don't forget to make use of this powerful search feature;
- by allowing your classified ads to remain on line until you choose to remove them (through removal links sent to you periodically by MyClAds™ or by emails from persons responding to a specific classified ad). In this way, you do not have to keep reposting your ads, or pay for any of the ads you post;
- the limitations imposed by craigslist.com or websites seeking payment for running classified ads makes sense for them but, with a website trying to get users to redefine themselves economically, it makes no sense to cancel hundreds of ads each week or month and expect the User to put the ads back each week or month. Instead, the rules have to be changed so Users don't waste their 10-20 hours of their time re-posting their classified ads every week or month;
